About Inessa

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #164876)

My name is Inessa and I am a wife, new(ish) mother, sister, daughter, therapist, choir director, musician, friend, believer, ADHD-er and even the occasional “world traveler.”

Professional Background and Approach to Therapy

In 2022, I graduated with my Masters in Clinical Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University. Following graduation, I worked in many agency private practice settings with families, children and couples throughout Sacramento providing Trauma-Informed Care, Social-Emotional Learning and Suicide Prevention.

I have approached my work through a systemic and cultural lens often observing that an individual’s “village” often shapes them in more ways than most realize. This is why I spend some time getting to know my Clients as “whole.”

I firmly believe that real change starts with addressing our deepest emotions, especially those that we might not be aware of or want to admit. Insight is good, but by itself it is often not enough to make meaningful change occur. This is why I often lead my Clients to explore themselves and their challenges through a parts-work where they answer the question, “why does this (behavior) make perfect sense?”

Personal Background

I was born and raised in Sacramento to Slavic immigrant parents. I very connected to my cultural roots which also provides a connection to my faith-based community. I am fluent in Russian and Ukrainian and can provide services in those languages.

In my free time, I can be found signing, playing my piano, crafting or having game nights with my husband and his family and our friends.
